Full Description: The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Rainier Residential Habilitation Center in Buckley, Washington. You'll enjoy work where you can make an impact in providing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through collaboration with other team members and development of communication-based services, you'll support our client's communication modalities and needs.

Some of what you'll do:
•Develop and implement Speech Pathology services •Develop formal communication programs/interventions to address identified communication needs
•Provide written evaluations for an intellectually disabled population with multiple disabilities as they pertain to speech-language and hearing
•Work within an interdisciplinary team and develop programs that support identified priorities
•Provide in-service training to staff
•Design and construct adaptive equipment for communication
•Create communication displays using graphic software, such as Boardmaker

We are looking for someone with:
•A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology or Communicative Disorders or documentation of American Speech-Language Hearing Association approved equivalent to the Master's degree consisting of approved curriculum and student practicum hours
•A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association
•A current Washington State Speech Pathologist License Desired:
•Expertise in utilizing adaptive communication devices and applications for clients with intellectual disabilities
•Ability to teach and train staff
•Ability to provide dysphagia services
•Ability to deal with clients who have combative behaviors

This is a full-time assignment and the hired SLP will be working a Monday-Friday schedule with 37.5 hours guaranteed per week. There will be a quick interview and offer process. This school is a long-time client of Ardor Health Solutions. SLP would be working with primarily high school students and some Elementary Special Program Students. The SLP will have a full caseload of 59 students. This is for a ASAP start through 6/21/19 (22 weeks).There are 37.5 hours guaranteed per week.The SLP will not be the primary case manager on most of the students.There will we some direct therapy and some consultation only.
